Prof. Davide Prosperi
Professor Davide Prosperi is an Italian biochemist and nanomedicine researcher. He earned a degree in Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences in 2001. From 2003 to 2008, he was a researcher at the Institute of Molecular Sciences and Technologies of the Italian National Research Council (CNR).
He joined the University of Milano-Bicocca in 2008, where he is Professor of Biochemistry in the Department of Biotechnology and Biosciences. He also serves as Director of the university's Center for Nanomedicine and Tissue Engineering.
Professor Prosperi's research lies at the interface of chemistry, biochemistry, and nanotechnology. His work focuses on the design and characterization of nanomaterials for biomedical applications, including targeted drug delivery, intracellular trafficking, nanoparticle–cell interactions, biomaterials, and nanomedicine. His laboratory develops multifunctional nanosystems for therapeutic and diagnostic applications, with particular emphasis on understanding the mechanisms governing the interaction of engineered nanomaterials with biological systems.
He has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications in leading international journals and has coordinated and participated in national and European research projects in nanomedicine, biomaterials, and biomedical nanotechnology. His work has contributed to advancing the rational design of nanocarriers and functional nanomaterials for precision medicine.
