PlasmaTech 2027 — Engineering the Future with Plasma

We are delighted to welcome you to the 7th edition of the Plasma Processing and Technology International Conference – PlasmaTech 2027, which will be held in the vibrant and historic city of Rome, Italy, from 12 to 14 May 2027.

Building on the success of previous editions, PlasmaTech 2027 will bring together leading scientists, researchers, engineers, technology developers, and industry professionals from around the world to exchange knowledge, present breakthrough research, and explore the rapidly evolving frontiers of plasma science, plasma processing, and plasma-enabled technologies.

As plasma technologies continue to advance across materials processing, energy, environmental technologies, healthcare, agriculture, electronics, and advanced manufacturing, PlasmaTech 2027 will provide an international platform for interdisciplinary collaboration and the translation of fundamental discoveries into innovative technological solutions.

The scientific program for 2027 is structured around six core themes reflecting major research priorities and emerging directions in plasma science and technology:

- Plasma Science, Modelling & AI-Driven Plasma Systems

- Plasma Sources, Diagnostics & Intelligent Process Control

- Plasma–Matter Interactions & Advanced Materials

- Sustainable Plasma Technologies, Energy & Circularity

- Plasma in Health, Food & Agri-Environmental Applications

- Plasma for Advanced Manufacturing & Emerging Technologies

Click here for detailed topics and themes.

Together, these themes span the full spectrum of contemporary plasma research—from fundamental plasma processes, modelling, and advanced diagnostics to intelligent plasma systems, functional materials, sustainable technologies, energy and hydrogen, healthcare, food and agriculture, and next-generation manufacturing.

A cross-cutting focus on AI, Digitalisation & Plasma-by-Design will further connect the scientific themes, highlighting the growing role of artificial intelligence, machine learning, digital twins, predictive modelling, autonomous experimentation, and data-driven optimisation in accelerating plasma discovery and technology development.

In addition to the main themes, PlasmaTech 2027 will feature dedicated focus sessions and symposia, providing opportunities for deeper discussion of emerging topics, specialised research areas, and high-impact technological challenges.

The PlasmaTech 2027 will be held jointly with the Surfaces, Interfaces and Coatings Technologies International Conference – SICT 2027 and Tribology 2027. Registered participants of PlasmaTech 2027 will have the opportunity to attend the sessions of the co-located conferences, fostering valuable connections across plasma science, surface engineering, coatings, materials, and tribology.

Set in the exceptional scientific, cultural, and historical environment of Rome, PlasmaTech 2027 will offer a unique forum for sharing pioneering research, establishing international collaborations, and shaping the next generation of plasma-enabled technologies.

We look forward to welcoming you to Rome in 2027 for an inspiring, innovative, and impactful conference dedicated to advancing the science and technology of plasma.
